Why am I writing this?

I want to help you do a better job (admittedly, in my very small and niche field) and the best way I can see it is by helping clarify things that I specialize in. I work on industrial controls: PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, OT/IT, servers, virtualization, etc... If you are interested, hopefully this can help you out.

Posts that I see coming

How do I get started with PLCs? Fortunately, there are a lot of books, websites and forums on this topic. I hope to help go through some of the best of what I have found.

Common controls problems Some issues I have seen too many times at too many sites, along with the easy (and less easy) fixes for each.

What is the "industry 4.0?" You can easily find this on Google and I can point to a dozen salespeople who would love talk to you about it, but can it really help your firm?

What are the points of these specifications? I have the pleasure of working in a place with lots of specifications that have made life dramatically easier. We can talk about what they are and how to write your own.

What do I get?

If I could look back at this website in five years and say that I helped a single person get a first job, a promotion or a license that mattered to them, I would be quite happy.
